After Turmoil, Attorney General's Office Rushes MBG Case Again

Indonesia's Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has resumed its investigation into alleged corruption surrounding the "Makan Bergizi Gratis" (MBG) program, managed by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, investigators from the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) office questioned 12 individuals.

The individuals summoned included high-ranking officials and employees of the BGN, as well as representatives from the founding foundations of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG). Among those questioned were O, a support staff for the commitment-making official in charge of tablet procurement at BGN; RHG, Z, and GDF, BGN employees; and RRNWP, secretary to the head of BGN. External parties questioned included WH, from the TBCS foundation, and RE, a financial staff member from PT GSN.

Investigators had initially summoned 22 people, but only 12 appeared. The investigation had faced significant delays due to internal turmoil at Kejagung, specifically following the naming of Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah as a suspect in a corruption and money laundering case by the National Police. This situation led to Adriansyah's resignation as Jampidsus.

Prior to his resignation, Adriansyah had designated seven individuals as suspects in the MBG corruption case. These included Dadan Hindayana, former head of BGN; retired military generals Lodewijk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya, former deputy heads of BGN; Sony's associate Asep Yusuf Somantri; private sector figures Andrew Mulyono and Glor Harimas Sihombong; and active Brigadier General Lalu Muhammad Iwan, who served as secretary for promotion and cooperation at BGN.
