AGF extends contract with South African key player

Danish champions AGF have secured a significant long-term commitment from their South African star player, Gift Links, extending his contract until 2031. Links, a pivotal figure in AGF's Superliga title victory last season, has been a cornerstone of the team since his arrival in 2019.

AGF's Football Director, Carsten V. Jensen, expressed strong satisfaction with the extension, highlighting Links' embodiment of the club's "DNA" and values. Jensen emphasized that Links' impact extends beyond his on-field performance, citing his character and personality as crucial to the team's identity. "His performances on the pitch, most recently in the championship season, speak for themselves," Jensen stated, "but because of Gift's character and personality, his significance for AGF goes beyond that."

Links himself conveyed his appreciation for the club's trust and recognition. "I greatly appreciate the club's trust and recognition and look forward to continuing to fight for AGF and Aarhus, where I feel fantastic," he said. He recalled the championship experience and the celebration with the city's residents as a "unique" and motivating factor for future successes.

The contract extension is viewed as a strategic move by AGF.
