AI-generated recipes head for the factory as ServiFood, SinbiBio and Korea University join forces

An AI system that designs food formulas is moving from the screen toward factory production. Food-tech startup ServiFood has formed a three-way partnership with health-functional-food manufacturer SinbiBio and a research team led by Hong Ji-yeon of Korea University’s Department of Food Regulatory Science.

The agreement will test the commercial viability of AI Formula Lab, a solution that automatically generates a formulation when users enter a desired nutritional or functional profile. The technology can produce a proposed recipe, but two practical questions have remained: whether a factory can actually manufacture it and whether it complies with current food regulations.

SinbiBio will use its formulation and recipe data to produce prototypes with lower minimum order quantities and assess whether mass production is feasible. Korea University’s regulatory-science department will review the formulas for legal compliance, advise on approval strategies and assess the safety of ingredients. ServiFood will continue improving the solution and develop the formulation-design system.

The partners plan to seek joint participation in government research and development projects. They also aim to create a standard regulatory-science model for AI-driven food formulation. ServiFood chief executive Kim In-seop said the partnership would connect technology, manufacturing and regulation in a systematic way and improve the practical use of AI food-formulation technology.
