AI Readiness: India Leads Global Outsourcing Destinations Index

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the global outsourcing landscape, with AI readiness becoming a key competitive criterion for destinations. A new "Global Outsourcing AI Readiness Index 2026" by Ataraxis Management places India at the top, recognizing its strong performance in AI adoption, workforce skills, business integration, and educational system preparedness.

India scored 84.55 out of 100, excelling particularly in its skilled AI workforce and widespread adoption of AI technologies within businesses. Brazil secured the second position with 76.1 points, followed closely by Malaysia at 75.65 points. The top 10 also includes countries like Hungary, the Philippines, Chile, the Czech Republic, South Africa, Bulgaria, and Argentina, indicating a broad geographical spread of AI readiness.

The index assesses destinations across four dimensions: population's AI adoption (30%), workforce's AI proficiency (30%), business integration of AI (25%), and the education system's capacity to train AI talent (15%). These factors collectively determine a country's attractiveness for international clients seeking AI-driven outsourcing services. While Tunisia is not ranked, it faces similar challenges in leveraging its digital skills for competitive advantage.

The report underscores that the focus is shifting beyond individual AI tool usage to the strategic deployment of AI within operational processes. This comprehensive approach to AI readiness is crucial for countries aiming to thrive in the evolving outsourcing market. Several African nations, including Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, and Morocco, also feature in the ranking, signaling growing AI engagement across the continent.
