Aidil Sharin Honors Munoz and Pan Gon Amid Best Coach Nomination

Aidil Sharin Sahak, head coach of Kuching City FC, has earned a nomination for Best Coach in the Liga M Awards 2025-26, marking another significant recognition for his consistent guidance of the club's resurgence since late 2023. Having won the award last season, the Singaporean coach acknowledges the heightened challenge this year, competing against established figures Xisco Munoz from Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Kim Pan Gon, who leads Selangor FC.

Aidil Sharin noted that both Munoz and Pan Gon possess distinct strengths, having led their respective teams to impressive achievements last season. Munoz guided JDT to a historic fourth consecutive season with four trophies, while Pan Gon steered Selangor to become a primary contender, closely challenging for the Super League runner-up position alongside Kuching City.

"For me, every year I am in Malaysia, I am in the top three, except for 2022 and 2023 when I was in Indonesia, and I am very grateful every time I am nominated," Aidil Sharin stated. "And finally, last season I managed to win this trophy for the first time, so for the 2025-26 season, I don't want to hope too much because I admit the competition is very strong from Munoz and Pan Gon, who are also formidable with Selangor FC."

Aidil Sharin is now shifting his focus to Kuching City's preparations for the new season, with the squad currently undergoing pre-season training in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The team will kick off their new campaign with a prestigious match against JDT in the Charity Shield on August 21, serving as an early test of Aidil's squad's capabilities.

The Liga M Awards 2025-26 will see the top three finalists selected from an initial list of 10 nominees through voting by 13 head coaches, 13 captains of the 2025-26 Malaysian League teams, and 13 media representatives. The prestigious awards ceremony, organized by the Malaysian Football League (MFL), will take place at the Auditorium Seri Angkasa in Kuala Lumpur on August 12, 2026.
