Ainamani wins MTN Pro Tees Golf Series opener; Bagalana records hole-in-one

Abraham Ainamani emerged victorious at the inaugural MTN Pro Tees Golf Series Leg 1, held at Entebbe Club. The Palm Valley Golf Club professional carded a 4-under par 280 over four rounds, securing a 2-stroke win against a field of 35 professionals.

Ainamani's performance included an impressive 11 birdies and 4 eagles, earning him the largest portion of the 15 million prize kitty sponsored by MTN Uganda. David Amooti Kamulindwa from Entebbe finished second, two shots behind Ainamani with a score of 2-under par 282. Rodel Tadeo Gaita of Uganda Golf Club secured third place with a 1-over par 285.

The tournament also featured a notable moment from Abbey Bagalana, who achieved a hole-in-one on the par-3 12th hole on Day 2. This marked Bagalana's seventh career ace. He finished tenth among the 15 players who made the cut, with a score of 7-over par 291.

The MTN Pro Tees Series aims to provide continuous local events for UPGA members, fostering skill development and offering a practice platform for regional and international competitions. The series continues with its next leg on September 15-18 at the same venue, offering a 20 million prize kitty, followed by the Grand Pro Tees finale in December with a 30 million prize kitty.
