Cwinyaai, Babirye Clinch Titles at NCBA Golf Series in Uganda

Joseph Cwinyaai and Martha Babirye emerged as the top performers at the NCBA Bank Golf Series held at the Uganda Golf Club. Cwinyaai secured the men's title with an impressive score of 2 under par 70, outperforming a large field of 220 golfers. Babirye claimed the ladies' title with a score of 5 over par 77.

The NCBA Golf Series, now in its fourth year, is establishing itself as a premier amateur golf competition across East Africa. The tournament circuit attracts participants from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda, significantly boosting the sport's profile in the region. The series kicked off at the par-72, 18-hole Uganda Golf Club, with subsequent legs planned for Entebbe Club in October and a regional grand finale in November 2026 at Nairobi's Karen Country Club.

Beyond the competition, the NCBA Bank, in collaboration with Pendeza Uganda, is undertaking a social initiative. The partnership will involve distributing water purifiers to underprivileged families in Makerere Kivulu. This effort aims to provide access to safe drinking water and mitigate the impact of waterborne diseases within the community. The tournament, since its inception in 2022, has also focused on expanding golf's accessibility to young and emerging players, broadening the sport's appeal beyond traditional demographics.
