Aisha Falode Drums Support for Super Falcons, Insists they Can Overcome Setback

Aisha Falode, a member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee, has rallied support for the Super Falcons, expressing confidence in their ability to recover from an initial defeat in the Women Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Falcons have earned the trust, admiration, and unwavering respect of Nigerians through decades of excellence, resilience, and an enduring commitment to our nation’s colours.

The Nigerian women's national football team, the Super Falcons, suffered a 2-3 loss to Malawi in their opening group match of the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco. This setback has prompted Falode, who also serves on the FIFA Media Committee, to publicly back the team.

They are champions not only because of the trophies they have won, but because of the character, courage, and determination they have consistently displayed every time they step onto the pitch in service of Nigeria.

Falode highlighted the Super Falcons' legacy of excellence and resilience, stating that their past achievements have earned them the trust and respect of Nigerians. She acknowledged the disappointment of the loss but stressed that the players and technical crew feel it most deeply. "One result does not diminish the quality of this team," she asserted, reminding the public of their goals to qualify for the FIFA Women's World Cup and win an eleventh WAFCON title.
