Ajayi was substituted in the 64th minute of Hull's 2-0 win at the MKM Stadium after reporting hamstring stiffness, which initially raised concerns about his availability. However, subsequent medical checks have shown no issues, similar to fellow goalscorer Noah Mendy, who was also withdrawn with an adductor problem.
