AJL40: Siti Nurhaliza, Hael Husaini, Misha Omar kick off performances

The prestigious 40th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL40) music awards ignited the stage with a dazzling display of Malaysian talent. The night's performances commenced with a strong showing from renowned artists, setting a high bar for the competition.

Francissca Peter opened the show with her classic "Sekadar Di Pinggiran," followed by Misha Omar's rendition of "Bunga-Bunga Cinta." The energy continued to build with Hael Husaini performing "Jampi" and Syamel duetting with his wife, Ernie Zakri, on "Isabella." Ernie Zakri later electrified the audience with "Gemilang," a song previously victorious at AJL30. Azlan & The Typewriter also took the stage, performing their AJL23 winning song, "Lagu Untukmu."

A traditional touch was added by Umairah's performance of "Cindai." The audience was treated to a surprise when the original singer of the beloved song, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, joined Umairah on stage, creating a memorable moment that filled the arena. The event also featured performances by other finalists, including Amir Masdi, Aisha Retno, K.O.I, Wani Kayrie, Ryenald Guntabid, Aina Abdul, Luca Sickta, Kmy Kmo & Salammusik, Marsha Milan, Hazama, and Dayang Nurfaizah.

This 40th edition of AJL holds special significance as it marks four decades of the Malaysian music industry. The ceremony brings together a diverse range of musical works, artists, and industry figures spanning multiple generations, celebrating the rich history and evolution of local music.
