Pahang Crown Prince becomes first royal to earn RMAF pilot wings

Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, the Crown Prince of Pahang, has made history by becoming the first royal to receive the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) Wings. This significant achievement follows his successful completion of the Helicopter Basic Flying Course.

The Crown Prince participated in the 67(A)/26 series of the Helicopter Basic Flying Course from June 2 to July 31, utilizing an EC120B Colibri helicopter. He demonstrated exceptional skill, graduating with excellent marks in several flight assessments, including the Basic Handling Test (BHT), Instrument Flying Test (IFT), Final Navigation Test (FNT), and Final Handling Test (FHT).

The presentation ceremony was graced by the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who also holds the position of Colonel Yang Dipertua of TUDM. He awarded the TUDM Wings to Tengku Hassanal and 39 other graduates during a ceremony held at the Air Force College parade ground in Alor Setar.

The event also celebrated graduates from three other courses: Helicopter Basic Flying Course Series 67/25, Basic Flying Course Series 87/25, and Basic Weapons System Operator (Fighter) Course Series 01/25. Notably, two graduates from the Weapons System Operator course were the first officers to complete the program under the Direct Intake concept. Additionally, six awards were presented to outstanding graduates for their achievements in flight, academics, discipline, and leadership.
