AKB48 to debut new single 'Sukisshu' live at Japan Expo Malaysia 2026

The renowned Japanese idol group AKB48 is set to electrify audiences at the Japan Expo Malaysia 2026 (JEMY 2026) with a live performance of their latest single, "Sukisshu." The exclusive concert, scheduled for today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), serves as a special treat for fans ahead of the song's official launch in Japan on August 19.

Organizers anticipate the performance to be a major draw, attracting fans from across Malaysia and the wider Asian region. AKB48's appearance is a significant highlight of JEMY 2026, underscoring the group's enduring appeal and their commitment to engaging with their international fanbase.

This event signifies AKB48's return to the Malaysian stage after an absence of nearly two years, following their successful concert in Kuala Lumpur in 2024. Beyond the AKB48 concert, Japan Expo Malaysia 2026, running from July 24 to 26 in Hall 6 at KLCC, is a key event celebrating Visit Malaysia Year 2026. Admission to the expo is free. The event is organized by Siam Connection Sdn. Bhd. and G-Yu Creative Co. Ltd, with support from the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, JNTO, JETRO, Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur, Tourism Malaysia, and MyCEB.
