Al Mazunah Free Zone attracts four investment projects in first half of 2026

Al Mazunah Free Zone attracted four new investment projects worth OMR620,000 during the first half of 2026, adding industrial, logistics and export-office activities to the Omani zone.

Managed and operated by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, or Madayn, the zone now has cumulative investment exceeding OMR141 million. Leased space totals more than 1.4 million square metres, out of an allocated area of 15.36 million square metres. The zone employs 472 workers.

Ahmed bin Khamis Al-Kasbi, director general of the Al Mazunah Free Zone, said the desalination plant had completed preparations to supply water to the zone and had begun accepting service applications. He also said design work had finished for basic infrastructure in the fourth phase, covering 1.5 million square metres.

Madayn plans further projects under the current five-year plan, including an industrial incubator, specialized warehouses covering 50,000 square metres and a study for a 1,000-square-metre refrigerated warehouse. The zone is also studying a representative office aimed at the Yemeni market and possible factories producing animal feed from waste generated by Al Najd farms. Other proposals include compound-fertilizer factories and infrastructure for a vehicle complex with showrooms and public parking.

The zone is also considering adding one megawatt of solar energy through solar-powered lighting. Existing companies would be encouraged to shift 10% of their electricity consumption to clean energy, while new companies would be required to install renewable-energy systems. The second Al Mazunah Economic Exhibition and Forum is scheduled for Oct. 20 to 22 to promote trade and investment cooperation between Oman and Yemen.
