Al-Qadsia end Al-Nasr’s winning run as Al-Sulaibikhat hold Al-Arabi

Al-Qadsia ended Al-Nasr’s perfect start in emphatic fashion, beating them 3-0 at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium and handing them their first defeat of the season.

Ayoub Lakhdar put the Yellow side ahead in the 15th minute. Abdulrahman Al-Mushaifri then struck twice, scoring in the 26th and 63rd minutes as Al-Qadsia produced an impressive performance from start to finish.

The victory restored Al-Qadsia’s momentum after its 1-0 defeat by Kuwait Club in the previous round. It also temporarily lifted the team to the top of the standings with six points, ended Al-Nasr’s winning streak and removed them from the summit. Moroccan striker Hamza Khaba made his first appearance of the season after missing the opening two rounds through suspension, and his performance strengthened his claim to a regular starting place.

Al-Arabi continued to drop points after drawing 3-3 with visiting Al-Sulaibikhat at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium. Wilfres Santos gave the visitors an early lead in the sixth minute, but Kenan Malikov equalized seven minutes later. Bandar Al-Salama put Al-Arabi ahead in first-half stoppage time.

Al-Sulaibikhat leveled through Abdulaziz Al-Bashar in the 56th minute and regained the lead when Lucas Chalon converted a penalty in the seventh minute of stoppage time. Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi equalized one minute later to rescue a point for Al-Arabi, leaving both teams on two points, with Al-Arabi ninth and Al-Sulaibikhat 10th. The third round was due to conclude with Al-Salmiya against Al-Sahel and Kazma against Al-Shabab before the league breaks until early October for Kuwait’s participation in the 27th Gulf Cup.
