Alcaraz powers into US Open quarterfinals as American stars shine in New York

In the women’s draw, defending champion Aryna Sabalenka beat Taylor Townsend 6-4, 6-3 and will meet Linda Noskova, who upset Marta Kostyuk. Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro also reached the quarterfinals.
