A severe weather alert has been issued for Buenos Aires province, Argentina, as the National Meteorological Service (SMN) warns of intense thunderstorms expected on Friday night, July 31. The agency has placed several areas under a "red alert," signaling the potential for locally strong or severe phenomena.

Residents in the affected regions can anticipate significant downpours, with accumulated rainfall potentially ranging from 40 to 80 millimeters, and possibly exceeding those amounts in some sectors. The storms are also predicted to include powerful wind gusts, intense electrical activity, and the occasional fall of hail of varying sizes.

The most severely impacted areas are expected to be in the central, northern, and southeastern parts of Buenos Aires province. The SMN's warning encompasses numerous localities within these regions, highlighting the widespread nature of the anticipated severe weather.
