Alert Issued for Missing 14-Year-Old in Ioannina

An alert has been raised by Greek authorities and the organization "The Smile of the Child" regarding the disappearance of a 14-year-old boy from a shelter for unaccompanied minors in Ioannina.

Ahmed Gamal, 14 years old and of Egyptian origin, went missing on July 17, 2026, around 6:30 PM from the accommodation facility. "The Smile of the Child" was notified on July 19 and, following a prosecutor's order, released the boy's details due to fears for his life. The organization is actively involved in disseminating information and coordinating efforts to locate him.

Ahmed is described as being 1.67 meters tall, slim, with black hair and black eyes. On the day of his disappearance, he was wearing black shorts, a black t-shirt, and black shoes. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in his identification and safe return.
