Alex Marquez not fully recovered from severe crash

Gresini Racing rider Alex Marquez has revealed he is still not fully recovered from a serious crash at the Catalan Grand Prix in May, which left him with a fractured vertebra. Despite MotoGP's summer break, Marquez finds his physical condition concerning, experiencing significant fatigue.

These physical constraints were apparent during practice sessions for the British Grand Prix. Marquez described the one-hour session as excessively long for him, reaching his physical limit and feeling exhausted by the afternoon. While he focused on using the medium rear tire, he admitted to lacking sufficient data to determine where he needed to be more aggressive on the track.

Looking ahead, Marquez stated that he must learn to live with the pain if a complete recovery is not achieved soon. "I expect things to get better, but this track (Silverstone) is very demanding physically. Maybe this is a limitation I will have to face from now on," he said. He acknowledged the severity of the accident, suggesting it might have led to lasting changes in his life, though he feels otherwise well.

Marquez's admission highlights the physical toll of high-speed motorcycle racing and the challenges athletes face in returning to peak performance after significant injuries. The recovery process for such injuries can be lengthy and may require long-term adaptation.
