Algeria-Tunisia international train: schedules, fares, and travel details revealed

The Algerian National Railway Company (SNTF) has unveiled the schedule, ticket prices, and travel procedures for the international train service connecting Algeria and Tunisia. The service aims to bolster mobility and exchanges between the two neighboring nations.

The train departs from Annaba, Algeria, on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 9:00 AM, arriving in Tunis, Tunisia, at 6:27 PM. The route includes stops at Souk Ahras, Ghardimaou, Jendouba, and Béja. In the reverse direction, the train leaves Tunis on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:25 AM, reaching Annaba at 6:20 PM. Border crossing formalities are handled at the international station in Souk Ahras for the Algerian side and at Ghardimaou station for the Tunisian side.

Ticket purchases can be made at the Annaba and Souk Ahras stations, as well as in major Algerian cities like Algiers, Oran, Constantine, Sétif, and El Eulma. First-class tickets are priced at 1,900 Algerian dinars, while second-class tickets cost 1,640 dinars. Round-trip tickets are available for 3,485 dinars in first class and 3,040 dinars in second class. Children under four travel for free, and those aged 4 to 12 receive a 50% discount.
