Algerian Army Chief Highlights Operational Gains, Urges Continued Vigilance

Algerian Army Chief of Staff Saïd Chanegriha has emphasized the military's achievements and the ongoing need for vigilance in a message to personnel ahead of the 64th anniversary of national independence. Chanegriha highlighted the operational results of units engaged in counter-terrorism and border security, calling for persistent efforts to consolidate security and stability across the nation.

I urge you to persevere and work tirelessly in order to further consolidate these gains, with the aim of ensuring security, tranquility, and stability throughout the national territory.

He specifically commended the forces combating terrorism and those deployed along Algeria's extensive land and maritime borders. According to Chanegriha, these units are actively countering various threats, including organized crime, arms and drug trafficking, illegal gold mining, clandestine immigration, and fuel smuggling. He noted that the positive results achieved by these units are a continuous addition to the military's successes.

The army chief stressed the importance of thwarting "ignoble plots" against Algeria, asserting that adversaries have never accepted, and will never accept, the nation's past and present victories. He reaffirmed Algeria's pride and sovereignty in its decisions, bolstered by its army and people, and reiterated its commitment to supporting just causes globally.
