Alison dos Santos Smashes Karsten Warholm's World Record in 400m Hurdles

Brazilian athlete Alison dos Santos has shattered the world record in the men's 400-meter hurdles, clocking an astonishing 45.80 seconds at the Diamond League meeting in Zurich. This remarkable performance eclipses the previous record held by Norway's Karsten Warholm.

Warholm had set the benchmark at 45.94 seconds during the final at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. In Zurich, dos Santos surged ahead of Warholm in the final stretch, leaving the Norwegian far behind. Warholm finished the race in 46.69 seconds, and no other competitor managed to break the 47-second barrier.
