All gas stations destroyed on Kharkiv to Poltava highway, says Ukrainian lawmaker

All gas stations along the crucial Kharkiv-Kyiv highway, a stretch connecting Kharkiv to Poltava, have been completely destroyed, according to a Ukrainian lawmaker. The lawmaker cited attacks on July 26 that obliterated the last functioning station in Valka, urging drivers to ensure their tanks are full before traveling the route, as refueling options are now virtually nonexistent.

At this time, all gas stations on the Kharkiv-Kyiv highway, namely the section from Kharkiv to Poltava, are completely destroyed – both in the city of Valka and in the urban-type settlement of Chutove, and further on the way to Poltava.

Despite the extensive damage to fuel infrastructure, the politician asserted that the nation is not facing a fuel or food crisis. He noted that over 200 gas stations have been destroyed across Ukraine, with more than 80 in Kharkiv and its surrounding region, yet emphasized the absence of any crisis.

Drivers planning to use the Kharkiv-Poltava route are urged to refuel their car tanks in advance, as the opportunity to replenish fuel reserves on this section of the road is practically gone.

This comes as reports suggest Russian forces are increasingly targeting Ukrainian fuel stations with drones less frequently, deeming such strikes ineffective. Ukrainian companies have reportedly become adept at quickly repairing damaged stations. However, experts caution that the risk of attacks on such facilities will remain high in regions close to the front lines.
