Alleged CJNG operator "M4" and nine others arrested in Nayarit

Mexican authorities have arrested 10 individuals, including José Guadalupe Ahumada Villegas, known as "M4," who is identified as an operator for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). The operation, conducted by the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) in coordination with the Attorney General's Office (FGR), took place across seven raids in Nayarit state.

"M4" is accused of coordinating criminal activities in Nayarit and Tlaxcala. During the raids, authorities seized three long firearms, three vehicles, and several cell phones. The operation is estimated to have inflicted an economic blow of over four million pesos on the criminal organization.

The arrested individuals are reportedly involved in a range of serious crimes. These include homicide, kidnapping, extortion, drug trafficking, cargo theft, arms dealing, and the illegal extraction and sale of hydrocarbons. The Gabinete de Seguridad reported that the operation was the result of intelligence gathering and surveillance, which identified seven properties in the municipalities of Tepic and Xalisco, Nayarit, allegedly used by members of the CJNG.

Following the execution of search warrants obtained from a Control Judge, the ten individuals were detained. Their legal rights were read to them, and they, along with the seized items, have been handed over to the corresponding Public Ministry agent for further investigation and legal proceedings. The properties involved have been sealed and are under the custody of the authorities. The involved agencies reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordinated efforts to combat organized crime and ensure public safety.
