Américo Villarreal Highlights Progress in Tamaulipas, Says Transformation Is Already Benefiting Residents

Tamaulipas Governor Américo Villarreal said the state’s progress should be measured not only in official figures, but in changes residents can see and experience every day.

Speaking on his weekly “Diálogos con Américo” program, Villarreal linked the state’s development to coordination between the Tamaulipas government and President Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration. He said that cooperation has produced investments, infrastructure and programs intended to help people move forward.

Sometimes governments or politicians talk about large figures, large impacts and big numbers as a way of showing what is happening, but the benefit must reach the person, so that no one is left behind.

Tamaulipas will have its own section in Sheinbaum’s second government report. Villarreal said it will cover trains, bridges, roads, ports, water, hospitals, preparatory schools, energy and housing. He said the figures and projects gain meaning when people directly perceive their results.

No one should be left outside, and everyone should enjoy the human rights already enshrined in our constitutional framework.

He described the work as part of a political project that began under former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and continues under Sheinbaum. The governor said some changes may be small and others substantial, depending on the place and the opportunity, but residents should be able to see them in their daily and household activities.
