PVEM proposes measures to support young entrepreneurs in Mexico State and boost local trade

Mexico’s Green Party wants state and municipal governments to give preference to products and services provided by young entrepreneurs in Mexico State.

The proposal forms part of a two-measure package presented by José Couttolenc Buentello, the party’s parliamentary coordinator. It calls for public administrations to prioritize youth-led ventures when purchasing goods or contracting services.

The second measure would provide tax benefits to companies that buy products or hire services from sustainable businesses led by young people in the state. The proposals are linked to an initiative from Mexico State Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez and focus on sustainable development, social innovation and the circular economy.

Couttolenc said young entrepreneurs have developed projects to address environmental problems, including rainwater collection, leak detection, material reuse and compostable packaging. “There is plenty of talent and willingness to work. We are proud to see so many young people who want to get ahead while also thinking about protecting our planet,” he said.

The party says government purchasing and private-sector incentives could help move these ideas from projects to established businesses. “We want to see these ideas become solid businesses, creating jobs and helping Mexico State grow,” Couttolenc said.
