Amid geopolitical challenges, PIS records 2.4% net profit increase

PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), has achieved a net profit of $572.48 million in 2025, marking a 2.49% increase from the prior year. The company's operating revenues reached $3.33 billion.

Vega Pita, the acting Corporate Secretary of PIS, stated that this profit and revenue growth is a result of a combination of fleet strengthening, business expansion, operational discipline, and consistent cost efficiency across all business lines. "This proves that PIS can continue to grow amidst the dynamic geopolitical challenges of the industry," Pita said.

Pita highlighted that the positive performance in 2025 was achieved despite various challenges in the global shipping industry. She attributed the success to the company's consistent efforts in maintaining operational reliability and sustainable business management, aligning with PIS's commitment to supporting national energy distribution.

Growth in net profit and revenue that we achieved in 2025 is the result of a combination of fleet strengthening, business expansion, operational discipline, and cost efficiency that we consistently implement across all business lines. This proves that PIS can continue to grow amidst the dynamic geopolitical challenges of the industry.

In 2025, PIS transported a total of 107.69 billion liters of crude oil, refinery products, fuel, and LPG, ensuring reliable energy supply throughout Indonesia. The company contributed Rp 4.87 trillion to the state through taxes and dividends, supporting Indonesia's economic growth. PIS also supported domestic industries, including ship maintenance and enhancing the capabilities of Indonesia's shipping industry, as well as supporting Indonesian seafarers.

The company's growth was further bolstered by increased efficiency and an expanded business portfolio, including non-captive businesses. Notably, the LNG transportation business saw significant growth, with 11 shipments in 2025, a fivefold increase compared to 2024, reflecting growing customer confidence. PIS also expanded its international gas and petrochemical cargo portfolio by transporting Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM) through 28 shipments.
