Anderlecht make €3.5m move for Ejuke

Belgian club Anderlecht has made a €3.5 million bid for Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke, who is set to depart Sevilla this summer. Ejuke, 28, has been informed he is not in Sevilla's future plans and the club is open to selling him for approximately €3 million, despite him having one year remaining on his contract.

Ejuke's departure from Sevilla seems imminent, as he resumed pre-season training but was excluded from the squad for their tour of the Netherlands. This indicates a lack of future prospects under coach Gracia Plaza. Anderlecht aims to bolster its squad to compete with rivals Union SG and Club Brugge in the Belgian Pro League.

The Nigerian winger has prior experience in Belgium, having played for Antwerp during the 2023/24 season, where he scored four goals and provided four assists in 29 league appearances. He joined Sevilla on a free transfer from Antwerp two years ago but has only managed three goals and two assists in 52 games for the Spanish club.

Anderlecht, however, is not the only suitor. Saudi Arabian clubs are also reportedly interested in Ejuke and could present a more financially attractive offer. With the transfer window still open, Anderlecht's €3.5 million bid represents a significant first step in potentially securing the winger's next move.
