Andrzej Bargiel Returns to Himalayas for Nanga Parbat Ski Descent Challenge

Polish ski mountaineer Andrzej Bargiel is preparing for his next major challenge: conquering Nanga Parbat in Pakistan. He announced the details of his ambitious project, which involves not only ascending the formidable peak but also skiing down from its summit. The expedition is slated for early July.

Bargiel, known for his daring descents from high-altitude mountains, stressed the importance of respect and humility when approaching Nanga Parbat. "This mountain requires humility," he stated, acknowledging the inherent risks and difficulties associated with such an undertaking.

This endeavor marks Bargiel's return to Pakistan, a region where he has previously achieved remarkable feats. His past successes include skiing down Shishapangma in Tibet in 2019 and Broad Peak in the Karakoram range in 2017. These accomplishments have cemented his reputation as one of the world's leading ski mountaineers.
