ANN confirms editors of Danas and Nova will remain in their posts

The editors of Serbian newspapers Danas and Nova will keep their posts during an organizational transition, Adria News Network announced.

Pedro Vargas David and Brent Sadler confirmed the decision at a meeting held at the Danas offices in Belgrade. Dragoljub Draža Petrović will remain editor-in-chief of Danas, while Ranko Pivljanin will continue to lead Nova.

In this period of organizational transition, both newsrooms received direct confirmation at the meeting that their editors would remain in their positions and continue to be responsible for editorial content and daily decision-making.

Aleksandra Mitić, the daughter of the late Dušan Mitrović, one of Danas’s founders, was also reappointed. She will remain responsible for administration and finance.

ANN said both editorial teams had received direct confirmation that their editors would continue overseeing editorial content and daily decisions. Vargas David described Danas as “a historic brand on Serbia’s media scene and a valuable part of our portfolio.” He said the media organizations would work independently and observe high journalistic standards, adding that ANN looked forward to building a stable and sustainable future with the editorial teams.
