Another resignation from CHP: Mayor announces departure

Mehmet Şerif Yıldırım, the Mayor of Hekimhan, has announced his resignation from the Republican People's Party (CHP). This departure follows recent statements by the CHP's elected leader, Özgür Özel, regarding the formation of a new political party.

Yıldırım emphasized that his decision was made of his own free will. He cited the support and shared views of colleagues as a significant factor influencing his choice. The mayor indicated that discussions and a shared stance among his associates played a crucial role in his decision to leave the CHP.

I resigned of my own free will with valid reasons. The most influential factor in this decision was the support given to us by our colleagues with whom we have walked this path, regarding our thoughts in this direction and our taking a stance.

Reflecting on the current political landscape in Turkey, Yıldırım noted the significant developments occurring. He stated that his political direction had been previously determined alongside his colleagues. The mayor expressed optimism for the future, believing that "brighter days" will bring peace and happiness to the Turkish people. He concluded by stating his intention to continue on this path with his like-minded associates.
