Taiwanese news anchor He Guan-yi has confirmed his departure from TVBS, concluding an eight-year tenure with the broadcasting station. His exit comes just months after senior anchor Wu An-chi was laid off in April, ending her 28-year career at the company, a move that generated significant public attention.

He Guan-yi announced his resignation, stating that he has reached a new phase in his life and it is time to take the next step. He expressed gratitude for the company's cultivation and the companionship of his colleagues during his time at TVBS. Despite the fast-paced and high-pressure environment of a news station, he found his time there fulfilling, crediting his supervisors, partners, and colleagues for their support.

Reflecting on his journey, He Guan-yi recalled initial doubts about his longevity at the company, with some predicting he wouldn't last a year. He progressed from frontline reporting, including covering typhoons, to becoming a news anchor and hosting his own program, "Social File." He estimates he has produced over 6,000 news segments during his eight years.
