Anti-Corruption Bureau Investigates Sigulda Officials Over Vehicle Use Agreements

Latvia's Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) has initiated an internal investigation into officials within the Sigulda municipality. The probe centers on agreements related to the personal use of vehicles by the head of the municipality and his deputy, as well as the compensation they received for such use.

KNAB's Communication Department confirmed that the investigation will examine the contracts for the personal vehicle loan agreements entered into by the Sigulda municipal chairperson and their deputy. It will also scrutinize the compensation payments made to them under these arrangements.

The investigation aims to ascertain the legality and appropriateness of these agreements and payments, ensuring compliance with regulations governing the use of municipal resources and public funds. The outcome of the probe could have implications for the officials involved and the municipality's administrative practices.
