Aondoakaa condemns Guma killings, says Benue deserves security, not endless condolences

Chief Michael Aondoakaa, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Benue State, Nigeria, has condemned the recent killing of four individuals by suspected armed herdsmen. The attack occurred in the Abaashwa community, Mbaasar, Nzorov Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area.

Aondoakaa described the incident as "barbaric, heartbreaking and yet another painful reminder of the worsening security situation in Benue State." He expressed sadness over the attack, which also left several people injured, and extended condolences to the bereaved families. The Senior Advocate of Nigeria lamented the persistent attacks across the state, emphasizing that effective security should be measured by its ability to prevent violence, not just respond to it.

Furthermore, Aondoakaa raised concerns about injured victims struggling to access timely medical treatment due to an ongoing strike by doctors in the state. He appealed for emergency arrangements to ensure victims of violent attacks receive immediate life-saving medical care. He concluded by praying for the repose of the souls of those killed, the recovery of the wounded, and comfort for the affected families.
