Arab League Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia and Yemen

The Arab League has strongly condemned recent Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and Yemeni government forces, characterizing the actions as a "dangerous path that threatens regional security and undermines de-escalation efforts."

Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the Arab League, issued a statement on Friday expressing the organization's "full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting any aggression targeting its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity." He urged an immediate cessation of Houthi attacks and internal escalation within Yemen, emphasizing the need to avoid actions that could broaden the conflict.

Fahmy stressed the importance of returning to a political process to ensure Saudi security and preserve Yemen's stability, unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The condemnation comes after the Iran-backed Houthi militia launched ballistic missiles and drones at displacement camps and residential neighborhoods in Marib, Yemen, on Friday. These attacks resulted in the deaths of two people and injured 14, according to state news agency SABA.

Earlier on Saturday, Yemen's army reported responding to Houthi forces on several fronts. The Friday attacks followed even deadlier strikes on military camps in Marib and Hadramawt provinces, which killed at least 45 Yemeni government troops.
