Argentina's PUAM Pension to Increase in August 2026 Due to Inflation Adjustment

Recipients of Argentina's Universal Pension for Older Adults (PUAM) will see an automatic increase in their August payments, driven by the latest inflation indexation. The pension amount is adjusted monthly based on the preceding month's inflation figures.

In August 2026, the PUAM will receive a 1.89% adjustment, aligning with the 1.9% inflation recorded in June. This monthly recalibration ensures that the pension's purchasing power keeps pace with rising prices. The calculation uses inflation percentages with two decimal places for precise adjustments.

Alongside the adjusted pension amount, PUAM beneficiaries will continue to receive a $70,000 bonus. This supplementary payment, unchanged for over two years, is primarily aimed at those receiving the minimum pension, non-contributory pensions, and the PUAM. For beneficiaries whose pensions exceed the minimum, the bonus is proportionally reduced, ensuring the total payout does not exceed $489,775.92.

The updated amounts for August 2026 show the PUAM reaching $335,820.74 before the bonus, with the total payout, including the $70,000 bonus, amounting to $405,820.74. This adjustment also affects the minimum and maximum pensions, as well as other non-contributory pensions administered by the National Social Security Administration (Anses).
