Armed Attack Sparks Panic During Softball Game in Nogales, Sonora; No Injuries Reported

An armed attack on Avenida Tecnológico in Nogales, Sonora, sent panic through players and spectators attending a men's softball league game on Saturday night. The gunfire erupted near the Unidad Deportiva Estrellas Nogalenses, forcing the suspension of the match as people sought safety.

Videos circulating on social media captured the confusion and fear among those present at the sports facility during the shooting. The Municipal Government of Nogales later clarified that the incident took place on the avenue, not inside the sports complex itself.

According to the municipal authority, police detected a vehicle with fraudulent plates and initiated a pursuit. The occupants reportedly fled and fired shots during the chase. The government confirmed that no individuals were injured and no property was damaged within the sports complex. Authorities secured a vehicle believed to be connected to the events, which has been handed over to the Ministerial Criminal Investigation Agency (AMIC).
