Armed chase in Culiacán ends with three arrests; weapons, ammo, and stolen cars seized

A high-speed chase and subsequent shootout in Culiacán, Mexico, led to the arrest of three armed individuals and the seizure of a significant cache of weapons and stolen vehicles. The incident unfolded in the Lomas del Sol neighborhood after authorities were alerted to the presence of armed men.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers observed three individuals entering two vehicles and attempting to flee. A pursuit ensued through several streets in the Lomas del Sol area, located in the northeastern part of the state capital. During the chase, an exchange of gunfire occurred between the suspects and state forces.

The fleeing suspects collided with another vehicle, sustaining multiple injuries. One of the alleged criminals suffered a gunshot wound and required immediate hospitalization. A search of their vehicles revealed three automatic rifles, 28 loaded magazines, and 1,600 rounds of ammunition.

Additionally, tactical vests were recovered. The authorities also secured two vehicles: a 2018 Honda City and a 2026 Volkswagen Jetta, both reported stolen. The operation highlights ongoing security challenges in the region.
