Army Arrests Four Boko Haram Logistics Suppliers in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation HADIN KAI, have apprehended four individuals suspected of supplying logistics and facilitating the activities of Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in separate operations in Yobe and Borno states. The arrests were made during intelligence-led operations aimed at disrupting terrorist supply chains.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly supplied hard drugs and other logistics to Boko Haram terrorists, thereby facilitating insurgent activities.

In Yobe State, troops of the 159 Battalion arrested two suspected collaborators in Geidam. Preliminary investigations indicate these individuals supplied hard drugs and other essential logistics to Boko Haram terrorists. Recovered items included a significant quantity of suspected Indian hemp, mobile phones, power banks, and various other items, along with cash.

Simultaneously, in Borno State, troops from Sector 3 Garrison, in conjunction with the 242 Reconnaissance Battalion, arrested two suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers in Monguno. These suspects confessed to transporting food items and other supplies to ISWAP terrorists operating in Kwatan Dowoshi Village. Seized items included biscuits, milk, sugar, soap, headlamps, garri, lighters, and cash.

During preliminary interrogation, the suspects confessed to conveying food items and other supplies to ISWAP terrorists operating in Kwatan Dowoshi Village, Kukawa Local Government Area.

In a related development, troops intercepted 20 individuals, comprising nine women, two men, and nine minors, who were identified as suspected family members of Boko Haram terrorists. They were apprehended along the Gezuwa axis in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, reportedly fleeing intensified military operations. These individuals have been handed over for further profiling and necessary actions.

During preliminary investigation, they disclosed that they escaped from Gezuwa after a military offensive against their settlement.
