Army Chief Munir vows to restore lasting peace in Balochistan

Pakistan's Army Chief General Asim Munir pledged on Thursday to restore lasting peace in the Balochistan province, asserting that consistent efforts by security forces and public support would achieve this goal. Speaking at the 20th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters, Munir identified foreign-sponsored proxies as the instigators of violence and instability in the region.

"Their nefarious designs, however, will be defeated through the firm and decisive response of the armed forces, supported by the resilience and unity of the people of Pakistan," he stated, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations press release. Munir reiterated Pakistan's commitment to dismantling terrorist networks threatening the country and its people. He affirmed that operations targeting "Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan" would proceed with full determination until terrorism and its collaborators are eradicated.

The army chief described Balochistan as a region rich in natural resources and home to resilient, patriotic people, calling them the province's greatest strength. He noted that ongoing federal and provincial government initiatives aim to transform Balochistan's socio-economic landscape through an inclusive, people-centric approach. Munir also commended the contributions of civil society, academia, media, and youth to national integration and the province's long-term peace and prosperity.
