Arsenal to Face Real Madrid, Bayern Munich in Champions League

Arsenal faces a formidable challenge in the upcoming Champions League league phase, having been drawn into a tough group alongside European giants Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

As last season's finalists, the Premier League champions are aiming to secure one of the top eight automatic qualification spots for the knockout stage. Their path will also include clashes with Borussia Dortmund and Napoli. Arsenal secured their place in this stage with a perfect record in qualifying last term, setting high expectations for their performance.

Meanwhile, Manchester City and Aston Villa will also host holders PSG. The fixture at Villa Park will be a rematch of the recent Super Cup, which PSG won 2-1 in Salzburg. Liverpool's schedule includes a trip to Inter Milan and another tie against Atletico Madrid, while Manchester United is set to face Diego Simeone’s side as well.

The competition kicks off from September 8-10, with the initial six rounds concluding in December. The league phase will resume in January, culminating in the eighth and final round on January 27. The top eight teams will advance directly to the round of 16 in March, while teams ranked ninth to 24th will enter knockout play-offs in February to determine the remaining spots.

This season's Champions League will also see four new debutant teams: Como from Italy, LASK from Austria, Viking from Norway, and Azerbaijani champions Sabah. Additionally, former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure makes history as the first African coach to lead a team, Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava, into the main draw after successfully navigating the qualifying play-offs.
