As Saadi Family Gathers: Over 300 Descendants Unite for Hari Raya Celebration

The As Saadi family, a lineage tracing its roots back to a Yemeni imam and merchant named Saad who arrived in the Nusantara centuries ago, recently celebrated their enduring heritage at the Majlis Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026. Organized by the Persatuan Famili As Saadi (PFA), this biannual gathering is more than just a festive occasion; it's a vital effort to preserve and strengthen the bonds across nine generations of descendants.

What is particularly heartening about this year's event is the visible increase in participation from the younger generation. This growing engagement is a positive sign for the PFA, ensuring that the traditions and connections forged by their ancestors continue to be cherished and passed down. Family members traveled from across the Klang Valley, Kedah, and other states, demonstrating a shared commitment to maintaining their familial ties.

Among the distinguished guests were Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd. Zahir, former Chairman of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), and the renowned celebrity chef, Chef Liza Zainal. Their presence underscores the significant contributions and standing of the As Saadi family within Malaysian society.
