ASEAN Summer Festival Bridges Southeast Asia and Kazakhstan in Astana

Astana transformed into a vibrant hub of Southeast Asian culture on Aug. 22 as the ASEAN Summer Festival brought the region closer to Kazakhstan. The event served as a showcase for the diverse traditions, culinary delights, and tourism opportunities of Southeast Asia, highlighting the growing people-to-people connections between the areas.

The festival was organized by the Astana ASEAN Committee (AAC), an entity comprising the Embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. With support from various partners, the AAC orchestrated a day filled with cultural immersion, aiming to deepen understanding and appreciation for Southeast Asian heritage among Kazakh residents and visitors.

Attendees experienced a rich tapestry of cultural performances, sampled authentic Southeast Asian food, and learned about various tourist destinations. The festival underscored the strengthening diplomatic and cultural ties, positioning Kazakhstan as a key partner in fostering regional cooperation and exchange.
