Asking for 2.4 million: the most 'expensive' specialists named by the Ministry of Labor

Job seekers in Kazakhstan are expressing significantly higher salary expectations than what employers are offering, according to the Ministry of Labor. Candidates seeking positions such as pilots reported expecting around 2.39 million tenge, while flight attendants anticipated approximately 1.43 million tenge. Power plant managers also had high expectations, seeking about 1.32 million tenge.

In contrast, the highest salaries advertised by employers in published vacancies were considerably lower. Software architects could expect around 1.12 million tenge, flight safety inspectors about 910,000 tenge, and deputy heads of marketing and sales around 900,000 tenge. This disparity highlights a gap between applicant desires and market realities.

The Enbek.kz platform data shows a typical summer trend, with a 3.8% decrease in vacancies and an 11.5% rise in resumes in July compared to June. This influx is attributed to new graduates entering the job market and seasonal job searches. The education sector led in vacancies with 23,400 positions, followed by "other services," healthcare, and agriculture. Astana recorded the highest number of vacancies with 8,800 offers.
