Athens public transport to run on holiday schedule August 15

Public transportation services in Athens will operate on a reduced schedule on August 15th, a significant public holiday known as the Dormition of the Theotokos. This holiday schedule will affect buses, trolleybuses, the metro, and the tram, with services running at more infrequent intervals.

Specifically, all bus and trolleybus lines will adhere to a Sunday schedule on August 15th. However, lines that typically operate 24 hours a day will continue their regular round-the-clock service, ensuring some level of continuous transport availability. For the following day, August 17th, an extraordinary schedule based on the daily timetable will be implemented.

For the metro and tram services, information regarding frequencies during the August holiday period can be found on the official STASY (Urban Rail Transport SA) website. On Saturday, August 15th, metro lines 2 and 3, along with tram lines T6 and T7, will operate 24 hours, consistent with their usual Saturday operations.
