Athletics European Championships: Bukowiecka Claims Silver Medal

Natalia Bukowiecka secured a silver medal in the 400-meter final at the European Athletics Championships, clocking in at 50.04 seconds. This achievement marks the fifth medal for Poland in the competition so far.

The race was dominated by Norway's Henriette Jæger, who not only won the gold medal but also shattered the Norwegian record and achieved the best European time of the year with a blistering 49.04 seconds. The bronze medal was claimed by the Netherlands' Lieke Klaver, who finished with a time of 50.15 seconds.

Bukowiecka had previously demonstrated strong form in the semifinals, where she comfortably advanced to the final. She led her heat from the start, outpacing her closest competitor, Czech athlete Lurdes Gloria Manuel, who is the current indoor world champion. Bukowiecka maintained her lead throughout the race, winning her semifinal heat with a personal best of 49.57 seconds, which was also the fastest time among all semifinalists.
