Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, Saraki congratulate Adeleke on Osun re-election

Ademola Adeleke has secured a second term as the Governor of Osun State, Nigeria, following his re-election victory announced early Sunday. The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke the winner after he garnered 511,067 votes across the state. He defeated his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who received 444,815 votes. Adeleke's win saw him triumph in 19 out of the state's 30 local government areas.

Following the announcement, prominent opposition figures extended their congratulations to Governor Adeleke. These included Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress; Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC); Rabiu Kwankwaso, NDC's vice-presidential candidate; and former Senate President Bukola Saraki. Atiku Abubakar noted that the outcome reflected the genuine choice of Osun residents as expressed through the ballot box and wished Adeleke continued success in his second term.

Peter Obi congratulated Adeleke, highlighting the election as a demonstration of citizens' power to choose their leaders. Obi commended the youths of Osun for peacefully defending their democratic mandate and urged Nigerians to remain vigilant in protecting their votes, emphasizing that "every genuine vote must be respected, and every lawful mandate must be protected."
