Atletico complete Lee signing from PSG, Khusanov extends City deal

Atletico Madrid has secured the signing of South Korean international Kang-In Lee from Paris Saint-Germain, with the midfielder agreeing to a contract until June 30, 2031. The Spanish club described the 25-year-old as a talented left-footed player who can operate in attacking midfield or on the wings, noting his vision, ball control, and passing ability.

Atletico de Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement for the transfer of Kang-In Lee, who has signed for our club until June 30, 2031.

While the clubs did not disclose the transfer fee, sources close to the negotiations indicated it was approximately 40 million euros, excluding bonuses. Paris Saint-Germain expressed gratitude to Lee, who joined them from Valencia in 2023. During his tenure, he scored 16 goals in 124 appearances and won 12 trophies, though his playing time was limited under Luis Enrique, and he suffered a thigh injury in January. He was an unused substitute in PSG's recent Champions League final victories.

Lee's move to Atletico makes him their third summer signing, following Morten Hjulmand and Alejandro Grimaldo. Meanwhile, Antoine Griezmann has departed for Orlando City. Lee last represented South Korea in the World Cup, where the team was eliminated in the group stage. PSG is also reportedly in talks to sell Goncalo Ramos to AC Milan and is considering moves for Maghnes Akliouche and Yan Diomande.

In other transfer news, Manchester City defender Abdukodir Khusanov has committed his future to the club by signing a five-year contract extension. The 22-year-old center-back, who joined City in January 2025, has earned 30 caps for Uzbekistan and played in all three of their World Cup matches. Khusanov expressed his happiness and determination to impress new manager Enzo Maresca and secure a regular place in the team. He follows teammate Phil Foden in signing a long-term deal.
