Atlético insists Álvarez is not for sale amid Real Madrid interest

Atlético de Madrid has firmly stated that Julián Álvarez is not on the market, despite reported interest from Real Madrid. Sources within the club emphasized that while Real Madrid did reach out to inquire about the player's situation, no official offer was made.

Atlético's stance is that the Argentine attacker is a central piece of their project and is not for sale. This comes after previous interest from Barcelona, which also received a firm rejection from Atlético. The club's position remains unwavering: they have no intention of selling Álvarez, regardless of the financial figures involved.

Real Madrid, however, issued a statement claiming they had made a €150 million offer for Álvarez, which Atlético had supposedly rejected while thanking them for the proposal. This statement surprised Atlético officials, who reiterated that no offer was ever formally presented to them. They clarified that their response to Real Madrid's inquiry was simply that the player was not for sale.

Atlético values Álvarez highly, considering him one of the world's best players and a key professional. He joined the club in the summer of 2024 from Manchester City and has since scored 49 goals in 106 appearances across all competitions, making him the team's top scorer in two consecutive seasons. His contract with Atlético runs until June 30, 2030.
