Attacker Identified Within 24 Hours, Police Delay Investigation for Eight Months

Nine months after a teenage assault left a recreational athlete with a severe facial injury, the victim remains frustrated by the Slovenian police's slow progress in concluding the investigation. The incident occurred last October outside a sports facility on Brezovica, where the teenager's aggressive behavior escalated into a physical attack.

According to reports, the assault happened after some volleyball players, who frequently use the facility, went to investigate a commotion involving car damage in the parking lot. One of these players, the victim, sustained a blow to the face. The attacker is reportedly known, and video footage and eyewitness accounts exist, yet the police investigation remains ongoing.

The victim expressed deep disappointment with the police's handling of the case, noting that despite clear evidence, including video recordings and multiple witnesses, the investigation has dragged on for an unusually long time. The delay has left the victim questioning the effectiveness and efficiency of the law enforcement process in bringing the perpetrator to justice.
