Authorities shut down alleged dating house in Quito’s Solanda district

Authorities in Quito have ordered the preventive closure of a property in Solanda that allegedly operated as a dating house under the guise of a swinger bar.

The intervention was carried out by delegates from the Metropolitan Control Agency during inspections of informal businesses in the south of the capital. Inspectors found attendees at the premises who were heavily intoxicated and asked administrators to produce the documents required to operate.

The agency said the property did not have the Metropolitan Unified License for the Exercise of Economic Activities, known as LUAE. It therefore lacked authorization for commercial or adult-entertainment activities.

A review of agency records also found that the owner had previously been sanctioned for the same regulatory violation. Because of the repeated noncompliance, the owner could face a fine of up to $7,230. Inspectors evicted the attendees and placed closure seals on the entrances while an administrative sanctions process began.
